Engaged Summer Program

Engaged Summer Participants will be matched with Community Partners to complete up to 30 hours per week of service on a project proposed by the Community Partner.

The Engaged Summer Program is a service-based paid opportunity at George Mason. Engaged Summer Participants will be matched with Community Partners to complete up to 30hours per week of service on a project proposed by Community Partners. Over the course of 10-weeks, Students will work building relationships with community partners and getting real world learning experiences, all while participating in training and workshops that will deepen their understanding of social justice, equity and antiracism. We believe that through social justice, communities can be transformed so that all people have access to the resources they need to thrive. All Engaged Summer Fellows must commit to up to 30 hours of service per week through this partnership and up to two hours of personal, professional and/or leadership training bi-weekly with other students in the program. Through this critical service opportunity, each Engaged Summer Fellow will be able to better understand issues in the community, social responsibility and their commitment and connection to change.
