Faculty Associates help advance the mission of CECiL and the goals of the Quality Enhancement Plan

The Office of Community Engagement and Civic Learning (CECiL) is hiring for three faculty associate positions for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Please review positions descriptions below to learn more about each role:

 

Community Engaged Course Support and Faculty Development 

  • Assist with outreach to units/departments connected to CECiL course designation and curriculum development 

  • Work with CECiL staff to create and deliver faculty trainings related to community engaged teaching (in person and virtual sessions) 

  • Hold consultations with faculty interested in community engaged teaching, or with questions about CECiL course designation 

Commitment: Up to 10 hours per week during the semester 

Compensation: $5,000 per semester  

 

Assessment and Reporting 

  • Assist with piloting CECiL assessment of student learning connected to the QEP 

  • Assist with modifications to student learning outcomes and rubrics in response to pilot assessment efforts 

  • Facilitate trainings and outreach in conjunction with CECiL assessment efforts (including soliciting student artifacts and training on CECiL learning outcomes) 

Commitment: Up to 10 hours per week during the semester 

Compensation: $5,000 per semester  

 

Faculty Learning Community 

  • Assist in reconvening a Mason faculty learning community connected to community engaged teaching and research 

  • Work with CECiL team to prepare agenda and discussion for meetings 

  • Conduct outreach to faculty to gain interest in the learning community 

Commitment: Up to 5 hours per week during the semester 

Compensation: $2,500 per semester
