Thursday, January 31, 2019 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Johnson Center, Meeting Room B
Social Action and Integrative Learning (SAIL) will be engaging in a roundtable discussion and workshop around social movements in the context of the civil rights movement to today. Collective action and social change requires community and collaboration but in a time of political tension and heavy self-interest, how do we get others to act? This event celebrates the collective actions of young people who have and continue to take risks in the fight to be heard. It is for activists, artists, and thinkers who wish to better understand and participate in social change. Join us for an engaging discussion as we examine social movements through the decades. Food will be provided or feel free to bring your own!
