Director, Social Action and Integrative Learning: 

Patricia "Patty" Mathison has been at Mason since April 2013. She serves as the Director for Social Action and Integrative Learning (SAIL). Patty supervises the SAIL staff and provides overall management of the Center as well as connecting to community engagement initiatives across the university. Patty has been active in this field over the past 15 years and it has been her dream to bring the Bonner program to George Mason University. She is currently getting her second Master’s in Counseling and Development: Community Agency Counseling and has a particular focus on how environment impacts mental health. You can often find her out hiking with her dog, Shasta.

Bonner Program Coordinator

As a current graduate student at George Mason University, Elexus’ interests range in the areas of social perception, behavioral analysis, and post-colonial & identity studies in pursuit of social change and civic engagement. She is a master’s student in the Public Sociology program where alongside her cohorts, have implemented student workshops for professional and creative development to foster a more inclusive environment. Elexus enjoys discovering new recipes to cook and share with family and friends. She is an avid reader of fiction and academic literature, and when she’s not reading she likes to run or go on coffee dates with friends.

Fiona Klotz

Bonner Leader Program Assistant

Fiona Klotz is a Sophomore at George Mason University. She is majoring in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Social Justice and Human Rights and minoring in Nonprofit studies. She is a returning member to the Living Learning Communities, and is part of the Gender and Social Justice LLC this year. Fiona has a love for culture and travel, she studied abroad in Peru this past summer and hopes to pursue more traveling opportunities in the future as well as advocate, inspire and create change for the future.
