Each summer the Bonner Foundation welcomes four to eight motivated, passionate, and talented Bonner summer interns from our network of 65+ Bonner programs. During this ten-week internship, these bright young leaders bring their Bonner Program experience and share it by developing new resources and strategies for the national network. This year, national interns will work on projects in the areas of strategic partnerships, racial justice, the Bonner Alumni Network, and organizing and sharing best practices.
We are delighted to welcome these five exceptional 2022 National Bonner Summer Interns:
ANU BASKAR ’24 – GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY (FAIRFAX, VA)
Anu (she/her) is majoring in Information Technology and minoring in Business. Anu’s hometown is Chantilly, VA. She is part of the second Bonner Leader cohort at George Mason University. She is currently serving at the Children’s Science Center as her primary Bonner site. In this role, she assists with the Latina Sci Girls Program – an eight-week series of STEM-focused classes created for Latinas in grades 3 to 5 to connect them with role models and hands-on engagements. The Latina Sci Girls Program is conducted at local Title I elementary schools. She also assists with onsite operations at the Children’s Science Center Lab such as interacting with guests and supporting weekend Lab staff during public hours and assisting with onsite and off-site programs with schools and communities. She also serves in a leadership capacity with the George Mason University Bonner Program with social media and website development and management. Outside of Bonner, Anu loves to travel and cook.
