This event celebrates and recognizes the impactful and incredible work we see in our community. We will be awarding graduating seniors the Community Engagement Medallion and recognizing several unique and wonderful partnerships of community partners, faculty and students. Community Engagement Medallion Recognition
The Community Engagement Medallion was established to honor graduates who have excelled in their commitment to the community through activities such as service learning, volunteerism, community/social issue advocacy, community work-study, and political engagement.
Nominate a Graduating Senior for the Community Engagement Medallion (Due March 5th at 5pm)

Application Overview: Applicants for the Community Engagement Medallion are undergraduate, graduate and professional students who will receive their respective degrees from December 2016-August 2017. Applicants should submit all of their materials online no later than 5pm on March 10th.

As part of the Online Application, the nominee will be asked to provide contact information for a community partner or faculty/staff who has advised, supervised or observed the applicant’s community based/civic engagement experience(s). CRITERIA AND SELECTION
A committee comprised of faculty, staff and community partners will review and score applications. Applications should reflect a breadth (variety) and depth (quality) of experience in several different community/civic engagement experiences.
NOTIFICATION AND RECOGNITION Applicants will be notified of their selection for this award the week of March 27th, 2017. Recipients will receive a medallion and a certificate recognizing their accomplishments. Recipients are expected to attend an award ceremony at the Seeds of Change event held annually at the end of the spring semester by Social Action and Integrative Learning. The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday April 18th from 1-3pm in Merten Hall 1201. Family and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony. Recipients are also encouraged to wear the medallion at their school’s commencement ceremonies.
