Field Studies Faculty Resources

General Information

Field Studies is the central point on campus for developing field-based courses and initiatives at Mason. We welcome and encourage faculty from around Mason to teach a course through the center. Although housed in the School of Integrative Studies, the center offers services to all faculty and students at Mason.

FS offers and supports two types of models:

  • Stand-alone:  Discrete courses that are generally 1-2 weeks long. These are typically offered over scheduled university breaks (i.e. winter, summer, and spring).
  • Embedded: Field studies experiences that are incorporated into semester-long classroom courses such a day or weekend trips.

We look forward to helping you develop your class!  Contact us when you're ready to get started or if you have any questions.
